Username: Blendercloud Real Name: Chris Occupation: Purchasing Agent MMORPG and console game you own: FFXIV, MLB 2k10, SimCity 4, Dirt 2, Heavy Rain, 3D Dot Game Heroes just to name some favorites. Other Hobbies: Computer building, Autocross, Baseball (Cardinals fan), Volleyball, Football (Chiefs fan), Cross Country Running How did you get into RMT business? I helped unlock the secrets to gardening elemental ores in FFXI. At the peak I was gardening on four accounts with 16 characters on each account. After selling the gil I was making about $2,500 per month. How long you been in the business? Since 2004 What was the first MMORPG or virtual good you sold? Diablo 2 items (SOJ's baby!) Have you been scammed? If yes, what's the most you lost and were you able to get back the virtual goods or MMORPG accounts? I had my main account stolen by a friend who was in my linkshell for several years. I was able to recover everything though. What's your favorite site to sell? (Other than VF of course) None, I'm out of the business. I only moderate now. What MMORPG games do you currently deal in? None; though I'll be playing FFXIV. Advice for new traders? Make sure you're reading more than you're typing. If you find that you're doing the opposite, you probably don't know as much as you need to know to do what you're doing. Take your time and be thorough. Every account should be treated like buying a used car. Go through everything with a fine-toothed comb slowly. If willing... Could you possibly share some input on preventative measures you use now to ward off potential scammers? (You could link this to the one where you ask if someone has been scammed before. 100% of longtime RMT have been) -I have seen hundreds of people get scammed because they weren't willing to shell out money for a middleman. Just in recent memory, I saw three different people buy the same 'gil' from a seller for $600 each, and none of the three used a middleman. All three paid by Western Union, and all three were scammed. This is absolutely ridiculous. Taking your time with a transaction is the absolute most important thing. Too many people get tunnel vision and can only think about how great the end result is going to be that they miss very necessary steps along the way. Preferred payment methods for buying and why? -Verified Paypal; It's the fastest, cheapest, and ultimately the most accessible Preferred payment methods for selling and why? -Verified Paypal; It's the fastest, cheapest, and ultimately the most accessible If you yourself were not in the RMT industry, who would you recommend to sell your account(s) to and/or buy accounts from? -Once upon a time, this answer would have been Casles. In light of what happened with Casles, I'm not in a position to recommend anyone anymore. Anything else you want to say: I am a Moderator for MMORPG Marketplace as well as Mazdas247.com. I pride myself on being fair and objective and feel that I'm well-suited for those roles. I enjoy working with people more than I necessarily care about making money. I'm a former Marine and genuinely appreciate the life I have now. I sold all of my virtual assets to buy an enormous rock for my fiance'. Financing? No thanks! If you were a porn star, what would your onscreen name be? -Tremors Thanks for reading! |

| brtev | That is a freakin huge photo. I'll have to figure out how to resize sometime. haha Shame you don't really buy/sell anymore. Who wouldn't want to sell to a nice guy in that pic. haha Thanks for doing the first interview. |

| Blendercloud | Hahaha! I saw the huge pic and was like "Jesus, I'm the front page today"... I enjoy the RMT market, and it's been good to me. I was able to pay off a car, credit cards, buy a huge ring, and put a down payment on a house with what I made. Who knows... maybe I'll get back into it when something new excites me (FFXIV?). I'm much more interested in working for market sites and trying to help other folks enjoy this market as much as I have. |

| rpgreseller | That was an interesting writeup. Amazing to see examples of a single person making a few grand a month in an industry that others would think is too scrutinized and too competitive for anyone to ever find a niche that generates income. Truth be told, the millions of Chinese studios don't do much research. As Blender points out, one should read more than they type. Same goes for playing or running any business. If you ever find anything that works well, let me know. I'll give you a commercialized operation that can have 50+ seats on short notice. 2.5k per month or whatever you're making.. multiplied. (i.e. you can return in style and in force if you find something that you like in RMT.) |

| rpgreseller | Brtev, keep the interviews going. I think you've found something that people will really latch on to. e.g. Marcus interviews gamer girls, and 70 yr ole geezers that play WOW. You interview people that did actual RMT. It's WAY more interesting. (Well, at least I think it is. Anyone else second that?) | 07-22-2010 |

| brtev | Thanks for the compliments. We need to branch out. I can't have all FFXI RMT Interviews. haha You have any good recommendations for WoW or other MMOs? VF definitely needs to interview you. You're still the only person I know with the "I'm legit" page haha |

| rpgreseller | I think good recommendations would be to hit each of the community leaders out there from the different communities. Then talk at some of the wow youtube celebs? • Famous middlemen • Anyone making money in the field • Gamers that spend too much money • Kathunx and his gun collection • Anyone famous that got banned from somewhere • Markee Dragon and his limo. • And then of course, visit China and interview some studio owners. Those vids are all the rage these days. Oh my God! I almost forgot Justice Mckay! You really got to interview him. Ask him what it was like healing people in Haiti and how his forum is the SAFEST place to trade online, and how he 'destroyed' MD. Ooh, that's gonna be the best interview ever because nobody in this industry comes close to such epicness. Yup, I'm the only one with a legitimacy page. I'm still kinda surprised by that. e.g. the other guys don't show so much as a business license? For me, stuff like Trustwho just wasn't good enough. I wanted people to trust me so much they'd leave me unattended with their children even if I'm just having one of those days where I wake up looking like a chomo for no apparent reason. Blues clues mixed with crack cocaine addiction, you know the look. |

| Blendercloud | Fair enough! It seems EGS is on the rocks just about weekly these days. I really hope folks open their eyes and discover that they can be treated better elsewhere (here). | 03-17-2011 |

| Tabitha | you could interview me! | 03-20-2011 |

| Kendrah1 | I "might" consider an interview depending on the questions asked. With a long history at EGS, I have loads available to disclose, and some may be interested in hearing about. No interview is too long, I like to type, so ask 10 questions or ask 1000 questions. However, I'm not too keen on handing out any personal details. If it's too personal, or I don't feel comfortable answering, I'll decline that question or state "no comment". Provided anyone is interested that is. |
