| How I lost $120 on MMORPG Beta Accounts |

I had just bought 3 MMORPG Beta accounts for $40 each with PayPal. This was a very hot MMORPG, and the beta was still closed to public. My intention was not to play these accounts or sell them for a profit. I wanted to use these accounts as a means of introducing my free verification service for MMORPG traders. You’re probably wondering why I have to go through so much trouble to do this. Why would anyone not want to use an awesome free service?
There’s 2 problems: 1. Virtual marketplaces for MMORPG traders need to make money to stay in business. The only way a virtual marketplace does this is by forcing you to use their paid services which is their promise of a safe transaction and scaring you away from using any other virtual marketplace. So if I’m offering cheap and decent protection, those other virtual marketplaces don’t want my verification service around. 2. The majority of traders would rather take their chances of getting scammed than to purchase a safety and protection service. Amateur traders are easily taken advantage by scammers who have been studying security flaws when trading virtual goods or in online payment systems. It isn’t until after this trader is scammed a few times, before they figure out the right way of doing things. So if you’re new, give me the opportunity to help you. I’m not asking for any money and just need your PayPal account to help protect you. Sorry for the digression. Back to my story. So I had just spent $120 on 3 Beta accounts and was preparing to sell them. 1 day later, an announcement was made that the closed beta period was ending. Buyers quickly evaporated from the market, and I was stuck with 3 useless beta accounts. I know what some of you are thinking. I should chargeback or dispute the payments rather than be stuck with some virtual data. That is considered scamming and if the Virtual FAQs staff ever catch anyone doing this, they will post your PayPal email in public so you will be unable to do any transactions by PayPal again. So being out $120 and not even getting a lousy virtual T-shirt, please visit virtualfaqs.com and register to protect yourself from online scammers. |

| Zycamzip | sometimes beta account users get bonus items or titles, when the games go live, while you might consider it a loss, you might also look at as a possibility to be a win. | 10-03-2010 |
