So I just had a conversation with a EGS user. I told him how I found his instant messenger info on EGS.

Me says:
yea
Me says:
Hi. This is John. I'm a representative of Virtual FAQs (virtualfaqs.com), and I basically go around talking to new sellers making sure you know everything about your trade so you don't get scammed.
Me says:
But seeing as you have 70+ vouches
Me says:
you probably know what' you're doing.
*** says:
Im really confused
*** says:
You work for egs?
Me says:
No I don't
*** says:
Soo what?
Me says:
Just someone that wants to stop scammers.
Me says:
My whole site is dedicated to that.
*** says:
Ok, how did you get my email?
Me says:
one sec
Me says:
off EGS
*** says:
Ok why are you talking to me?
Me says:
I added you because I thought you were a new seller judging by 0 feedback.
*** says:
Im new to that site yes but Im a very trusted MM at a runescape black market site, but im wondering why you do this?
Me says:
Because too many scammers go around ripping people off who post IM info.
Me says:
Also to let people know that we give free verification on my site.
Me says:
I know it sounds funny that I actually care about strangers.
*** says:
Alrite im not going on your sight one because you seem to know so much about scammers so you probolly make us sign up and and try whatever you can to hack me
*** says:
and two your insisting way to much about being kind and helping
*** says:
others
*** says:
so im going to have to happly disagree talking to yoy
*** says:
you
Noah says:
sorry

My comments:

As you can see, I have a long road ahead of me. I think he blocked me before I could even say that there's actually 8 EGS staff members on this site and that I have 200 EGS feedback on top of that, and you're welcome to confirm it with them if you want. Tsk tsk... Hopefully one day someone will ask him to get VF Level 2, and he will understand my vision. But I don't blame him since the industry is littered with scammers making it very difficult to trust any site without 10,000+ members.

Kasakari It's truly unfortunate that the shadyness of scammers has made people fearful of something that could help them from being scammed. What is even more unfortunate is seeing those same new users being scammed on their first transaction because they think they know what they are doing and that the person on the other end cares about them as a person and will be honest throughout the transaction and after it is complete. I am confident that your site will grow but since there is such fear in the market it will take some time. You just have to keep pushing on and good things will happen! 11-08-2010
brtev True, that is what I'm doing. Remember to direct all newbs to this site. 11-08-2010
