After reaching 210 unique feedback for my virtual goods sales on another MMORPG marketplace, I grew dissatisfied with what was going on. This is what I saw.

Scenario 1:
Scammers stole virtual goods or money from victims. Moderators would ban scammers. Scammers would register again under a different IP address. Cycle repeats.

Scenario 2:

Guy: Hey! I'll buy from you if you come to my forum!
Girl: Nope, I heard your forum is full of scammers so you come here.
Guy: No thanks, I heard the same about your forum. No deal then.

I wanted to create a new environment for virtual buyers and sellers. Originally I started Virtual Goods and Services, but the domain name was too long so I changed to Virtual FAQs. How did I come up with this name? I kept seeing the same questions asked over and over again about PayPal, Western Union and other MMORPG account questions. And the same people kept answering them. When the questions were not answered in time, someone gets scammed. So I set out to create the ultimate FAQ for these online payment services and MMOs hence the name Virtual FAQs. Please click the link above for a sample. The FAQs are currently not finished but will be in the next week.

Yes, the Virtual FAQs will be free. You're probably wondering why when I could make so much money off selling this info. There are 2 reasons.
1. I didn't want to see people get scammed because they weren't willing to pay $15 for my guide. This is the same reason why verification is free here too.
2. I feel it's a conflict of interest in my opinion to be selling a guide on scam prevention that thrives on scamming to be profitable. I know a lot of companies do this because it takes time, research and money to make a guide like this. This is another way of me giving back to the virtual community.

Want to know a secret?-Registered members will be able to access what I like to call unauthorized Virtual FAQs. These are unauthorized because they're very borderline ethical and legal tricks to stop scamming. So I don't add them to the public Virtual FAQs. They must be stated nonetheless in this cruel marketplace with little enforcement. Remember: Great power comes great responsibility.

Did you know the eGamingsupply CEO injured his back? Maybe that $1000 Final Fantasy XI speed belt is due to drop in value because of the latest update? How about the most reputable buyer you're about to sell your virtual goods was recently banned for scamming on another MMORPG marketplace? In my Article section, we cover the latest update and news in the virtual community in terms of trading virtual goods. So if Scenario happens again, you can now refer them to articles located on VF where we take our investigations very seriously and try to follow up on all leads. VF will do its best to filter and bring you the info that's relevant to you. This means no news about how some random company raised millions of dollars for their virtual goods games. We don't care about that.

How is the VF virtual marketplace different? Simple. You cannot buy or sell until you've reached Level 2. VF works like a MMO, and you level up. Fun huh? The higher the level, the more reputable and secure you are. Or in other words, VF staff get to verify you before you can buy and sell. Afterwards you will be Virtual FAQs verified. This is a FREE and very simple process. I wanted to make sure there was a good balance between obtaining your personal info and the safety of the marketplace. All I need is your PayPal email which you probably used to register. See? That's it. With this info I can find:

-Google background check.
-Make sure you're PayPal verified.
-Check to see if your PayPal is hacked. IP address physical location and PayPal Account type match. The confirmation link sent to your VF registration email means you also have access to the email account linked to the PayPal Account.
-Some other things I can't disclose.

And if that's not enough for you, you're welcome to sell somewhere else. It's that simple. I'm not going to perpetuate the Scenario 2 at the top of the article. So I'll say it one more time. Sell your virtual goods at whatever site you want. You won't hurt my feelings. Promise. You can still leave feedback to your trade partner here if you do your transaction on a different site.

Donations accepted!

You know if I save you from getting scammed out of your $1000 account, then feel free to click the Donate button above and give me a few dollars if you like to show your appreciation and keep this site running.

So is that enough to convince you to register? Not yet? Ok keep reading for more details on VF!

1. Member location without displaying the IP address.
Hacked PayPal accounts is a huge problem. Basically a scammers hacks into someone elses PayPal accounts and pays you. After you deliver the virtual goods to the scammer, he/she disappears. The real owner of the PayPal account discovers what happens and opens a dispute. 99.9% of the time, the seller will lose this dispute.

Solution: Check the member location in their profile. If it says China, and the PayPal account has a US confirmed shipping address, chances are the PayPal account was hacked. I know a lot of members like to keep their IP address private yet this info is crucial to scam prevention. This is the compromise I came up with.

2. Social Media Advertising

I don't really have an advertising budget so please help spread the word. VF has accounts on Facebook, Twitter and other social media. So remember if you see something you want to share, make sure to click the appropriate link and let the world know. I especially want people to know about our PayPal Virtual FAQ when it's finished because that FAQ will stop many scammers and educate the public about PayPal's pitfalls and benefits.
